Today I presented the Electricity and Gas Transmission (Compensation) Bill in the House of Commons. The Bill aims to establish an independent mechanism for people to be able to appeal to get fair compensation for disruptions caused to their property by the National Grid UK.
In essence, this means that the planning elements around the Development Consent Order have been resolved but that the financial arrangements remain to be settled. I will be having discussions with Ministers and officials in the coming weeks, as well as with North Somerset Council to see wheth
