I am delighted that my Private Members’ Bill, the Electricity Transmission Compensation Bill, passed through its Third Reading in the House of Commons today. The Bill will now move to the House of Lords as it continues its legislative process.
It was great fun to be surrounded by Wombles and other Litter Heroes at Keep Britain Tidy's Spring Clean event in the House of Commons. It is important everyone does their part to cut litter and end waste.
1/1000 to 1/1100 births result in a child with Down Syndrome. Following the great success of the Down Syndrome Act passing into law last year, I am now calling for a debate on World Down Syndrome Day in the House of Commons to continue the momentum for this campaign.

I thoroughly enjoyed speaking at the Nailsea & Backwell Rotary Club Dinner last week, a group renowned for their fantastic community work. It was a pleasure to answer questions from constituents, look back on my career, and to conclude with an appeal for Give Us Time.
I met Bryan Robson OBE at today’s Catch Up With Cancer drop-in inside Parliament. The South West lags behind many parts of the UK in cancer waiting times. That is unacceptable in a National Health Service. We need funding to be distributed more evenly.
With Putin moving towards a full war footing, the next 6 months in Ukraine are crucial. As I said during PMQs today, we must use every means at our disposal to honour the courage of the people of Ukraine and defend the whole World Order.
Germany's funding of tanks to Ukraine is a good decision. However, as Putin pushes a new deadly attack, we need to focus on the speed of supply of all weaponry. This war isn't just about Ukraine, it's about the whole international order.
